Today, 5 states are announcing adding over 300 hours of instructional time to their school calendars beginning in 2013-2014.

Thoughts on this? Will those extra 300 hours make a SIGNIFICANT difference in the outcomes teachers and administrators will see? We can all agree there are not enough hours in the day to do it all...but what is the right answer?
Yes. However like the article notes and shows the time, if valued, needs to be invested in. Also, more could be done with scheduling alternatives, longer school days, non-traditional 7/8 period days, etc. versus just thinking a longer school year; or mid-summer/interm short courses? Either way education most likely will remain an underfunded investment. As we already know everyone involved is asked to do more with less. When do we say no or when will people realize the continued loss and turning away of good instructors? ? "No More w/ Less"
