Here is where it can get tough...

We have reached that point in the school year where we are craving sunshine, warm temperatures, and flip flops (ok...maybe that is just me).  We tend to get a little stir crazy and a little negative.

We know that testing is around the corner and we still feel like we have a hundred standards to master.

Lawmakers are in Pierre passing or defeating legislation that impacts our professions.  We feel like our voice hasn't been heard.

There is that really great project we had planned that went over like a lead balloon with our students.

It appears like their right mitten, all the motivation our students (and sometimes us) had at the beginning of the semester is lost.

We may spend time wondering..."What am I doing???"  and "Does this really make a difference?"

Let me tell you...it does...it makes a difference.  We often let the negative things...the struggles...the stresses...speak louder than the positive things.  Turn the volume down on those negative things.  Evaluate them...seek change...but turn the volume up on those positive things.  Know you are making a difference.  You are changing the world for the better.

Think back to why you went into teaching...what was it that drew you to this profession?  Remember how giddy you were to have your first classroom?  Go back to that time when you were invincible and the BEST teacher out there...
